The Convert Premieres In Zimbabwe Tomorrow! Gift The Convert

GIVE A MEANINGFUL GIFT TO A ZIMBABWEAN!

Give a meaningful gift this Holiday season. Gift The Convert in Zimbabwe! All contributions made to Almasi from now until December 24th will go towards bringing people of disadvantaged backgrounds in Zimbabwe to the theatre to watch this exciting African premiere production. Give in the name of a loved one. Your gift will help bring people from all sectors of Zimbabwean society together to enjoy a play this holiday season. You will receive a video thanks from theater ticket recipients. Being back at home in Zimbabwe, the need to expose as many people as possible to the joy and magic of theater feels more urgent than ever. In interviews here I am often asked, "Why theater?" The notion of investing in this powerful artform as a community is still elusive to many. Yet there is a deep interest in the dramatic arts among people in the community and dedicated artists. I feel it is crucial to bring people into the theater and let this powerful artform speak for itself. I know without a doubt that theater has the ability to affect hearts and change, be a powerful cultural ambassador and teaching tool. Not to mention its ability to wonderfully entertain. I am excited about this drive, gifting theater to people who have never been able to enjoy its thrilling effect, until now. Join me in giving the gift of theater this holiday season in sunny Zimbabwe. Tinotenda.

WE'RE ALMOST THERE!

"Every part of my time here has been eye-opening and astonishing, but what is most exciting is seeing this play, which McCarter Theatre Center birthed, being brought home to its native country. I can’t wait to see how Zimbabwean audiences respond to it!" ~ Adam Immerwahr (McCarter Global Dispatch)

Adam Immerwahr, Associate Artistic Director of The McCarter Theater started his cultural exchange directing this production last month. More than ever, we endeavor to give the artists and audiences the most professional, educational and fulfilling experiences we can. We work to nurture great future Zimbabwean artists and connect the American and the Zimbabwean in a cultural exchange and by so doing, nurture global citizenship. Tinotenda!
